Artery Collective is made up of professional artists bonded together by a shared desire to engage in work that is intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant. Artistic Director’s Luvia Petersen and Omari Newton were struck by the raw honesty of Cariani’s often produced story of love, “Almost, Maine.” They reached out to their equally motivated peers to organize a reading of the full piece. The energy during the reading was exhilarating and led to the formation of the Artery Collective.

The core group includes; Alison Araya, Alison Wandzura, Luvia Petersen, Nancy Kerr, Nelson Leis, Omari Newton, Vanessa Walsh.

Artery Collective aims to tell compelling stories rooted in our shared experiences in ways that are honest, challenging, and reflective of a diversity of perspectives, socio economic class, and cultural backgrounds in our global community.

We strive to represent our audiences in the words being spoken, the bodies on stage and the creative decisions made behind the scenes.
